Obedience to Him he gave

She risked her life to say
Love was not something He won
Love is

Words he wrote so wise
For generations to advise
Love was not something He taught
Love is

From His favor in a girl
A babe was born to save the world
Love was not something He bestowed
Love is

From the Father to the Son
His children to be won
Love was not something He did
Love is

In His death upon the cross
There was gain, not loss
Love was not something He showed
Love is

At the Midnight Cry
When we are gathered to the sky
Love is not something He gives
Love is

From, to, of and through Adam and Eve, Joseph, Esther, Solomon, and Mary, and especially Jesus, God consistently and faithfully loved. There was no qualification, justification or condition He required. He loves. He loves. He loves. Don't let yourself be blinded by what the world today calls love. True love is bound in God and it is eternal. All of His children He has loved in the past is also a way He shows you love. God is love. That's why you can't go beyond saying simply that "love is." No adjective could ever equal to such a powerful noun and verb. LOVE IS!
